Carnival Cruise Lines left Mobile 5 years ago, but they will return to the Port City in just 27-days. Since Carnival announced its return in September of last year the city has been preparing. The Alabama Cruise Terminal is where Carnival will dock its ship and the facility is currently undergoing a renovation in order to be able to accommodate the ship and its passengers.

Over the past year, the Cruise Terminal has had a 4-million dollar makeover. The carpet, paint, check-in desks, the customs area, and loading area have all been upgraded. In addition, security at the terminal has been modified in order to comply with new federal security regulations.

Carnival will return on November 9th. Currently the company has a one-year contract with the city, however, with 4-million dollars in the cruise terminal officials are hoping they decide to stay a little longer.
